Graveyard Performance

Graveyard-Performance-manifoldFor a relatively new company, Graveyard performance has jumped head first into the mazdaspeed community. From product vendor, to YouTube content creator, to fabrication, Graveyard Performance does it all. I met up with Nick Pagan, the owner of Graveyard, for a Q&A session. (Read until the end for a special offer!)

When did you start Graveyard Performance, and how has it grown since you started?

I started Graveyard Performance with the help of my business partner back in April of 2019. We are coming up on our second year of business, and have been so blessed to grow as quickly as we have. We went from fighting for our keep, to becoming one of the top distributors in multiple EcoBoost and mazdaspeed platforms. Graveyard Performance has evolved from the basic, low-stock drop shipping company, to stocking hundreds of brands. We now have a have a full performance shop and multiple employees.

What got you started on the mazdaspeed platform?

I purchased my first Mazdaspeed 6 back in 2013. I had a friend at the time who had purchased one, and after driving it I fell in love. Living in Utah, it was perfect for our weather conditions, and would always put a smile on my face. Shortly after purchasing it, I had Corksport lowering springs, intake, and front mount, and I could stop modding.

Believe it or not, after 3 years of owning it driving home, I thought the car had blown up because it developed a massive misfire in cylinders 1 and 3. Therefore I decided to go balls to the wall with a 6266 Precision turbo, built block, and everything in between. On first startup, the car STILL had the same misfire. I had since become known as the coil pack build in Utah, because the car never actually blew up, it just needed two new coil packs. I definitely lived and learned from that experience, and 4 mazdaspeeds later I still love the cars.

Your mazdaspeed 3 build looks like it's going to be a monster. What are the build details on the car? Do you have a power goal, and how do you plan to do with the car?

A monster is the plan! We acquired the car from a local car enthusiast that was about 50% done with the setup, and decided to venture into another platform. We took this opportunity to be able to take a pretty rare setup that hasn't been ran yet and push it to the limits. The car has a built block from Cortney Green, with a custom sidewinder turbo manifold on a Borgwarner EFR9180. We have it completely gutted and caged, and have added a few touches to it to make it our own. Its running all Damond Motorsports breast cancer awareness engine mounts, pcv plate, and vacuum block, overspeed injector seals, and our in house built PI kit with a CP-e Havoc Intake manifold.

Our goal is to acquire the highest horsepower Utah car, and actually take the car to the track. I want to be able to get on the list, which will require lots of seat time and dedication, but we are pretty dedicated to do it.

When did you start the Graveyard YouTube Channel? What kind of content will we see on the channel?

The YouTube channel just started not too long ago. We recently acquired a wrecked Ferrari 488 challenge car, and figured it would be awesome to show people our plans with it. Its a great outlet to keep people updated on the shop car, and really just show who we are on a day to day basis. Graveyard has brought on a few people to help us make high quality, informative content, while still capturing our personalities as if the camera isn't there. We are excited to get the channel progressing, along with the builds.

I've been seeing you post in the mazdaspeed facebook groups with new products coming out. What custom parts are available from Graveyard? Can you give a sneak peek on any upcoming parts we may see in the near future?

We have a lot of products currently in production, and a few new ones in the works as well! As of right now the majority of our products we offer are for the Mazdaspeed platform. We have filtered oil feed lines, top mount turbo manifolds, stock location manifolds for precision, or stock flange turbos, dump tubes, crash bars, etc.

As far as new products go, we have some stuff in the works for the Mazdaspeed6, but our main focus is getting piping kits and crash bars made for the Gen2 mazdaspeed which we anticipate to release in the next month or so. We have started to dabble into other platforms, but for right now the Mazdaspeed community still has our support in making new fabricated products.

On top of supplying parts, building the shop mazdaspeed 3, creating content for the YouTube channel, and creating new custom performance parts, I see you also have a shop. What services do you offer at the shop, and how can someone get in line?

We have definitely stayed busy that is for sure! At our shop we offer pretty much everything for vehicles. From basic diagnostic, details, to full blown builds and tuning services that we utilize with the help of Will and Ryan at PD Tuning. We have recently purchased a top of the line injector cleaning and testing machine to help us further assist the platforms we are most involved with. For those who are interested in getting a quote, or scheduling an appointment, the best way to reach out to us is to either give us a call, or message our Facebook page. No matter where you are located, we are willing to help and offer our assistance as much as possible, and help provide people with the best parts, shipping times, and customer service possible. For anyone reading this article, from now until April 15th you can use code "MSMODS" for 10% off all of our fabricated products, or fuel systems.
